Model scorecard last 7 days at this location

MAE = mean absolute error of hourly 2 m temperature. Day 1/2/3 = forecasts issued 1, 2 or 3 days before the valid time. Bias > 0 = model ran warm.

How the forecast changed run to run (dProg/dt)

Daily forecast by run age

Each column is what the model predicted that many days earlier. Steady numbers = a locked-in forecast; drifting numbers = the model is still trending.

How to read this

Deterministic = one best-guess run. Ensemble = many runs with perturbed starting conditions; the spread shows uncertainty. AI = machine-learning models trained on reanalysis (AIFS, AIGFS, GraphCast, WeatherNext). Blend = statistically combined guidance (NBM, Best Match).

The SkyJury forecast (the gold line and the numbers on the home screen) starts as the middle of every model's forecast. Once the scorecard has checked the last 7 days, each model is weighted by how accurate it has been at your location, and its usual warm or cold bias is subtracted. Models that have been right here count more; models that keep missing count less.

Simple and Pro view. Simple shows the forecast, radar and storms. Pro adds every model tool: compare, table, ensembles, scorecard, run trends, meteogram and sounding. Switch any time with the button at the top; SkyJury remembers your choice.

Asking about the models. With the audio assistant on, you can ask things like "what are the models showing for rain tomorrow" or "what does the GFS say about wind this weekend" and hear how many models agree, the range, and the time frames.

Explore. Live airport reports for the three nearest US airports, translated into plain English with the flight category (VFR, MVFR, IFR, LIFR) and the raw METAR and TAF for pilots. Earthquakes from USGS near you and worldwide, and NOAA space weather with a rough aurora outlook for your latitude.

Hurricanes tab. Active storms, their official NHC forecast track and cone, and watches and warnings come straight from the National Hurricane Center and Central Pacific Hurricane Center. The strong-wind chance counts how many ensemble members show tropical-storm-force or hurricane-force gusts at your location in the next 7 days.

Regional hi-res models (HRRR, AROME, ICON-D2, UKV…) only cover their domain and run 1–5 days; outside their area they show as n/a. Low model spread = high confidence. A single model far from the pack is an outlier — check whether it has support from its ensemble.

About SkyJury

SkyJury is a free weather app that compares more than 40 forecast models and 17 ensemble systems side by side, from ECMWF, NOAA, DWD, Environment Canada, the UK Met Office, Météo-France, JMA and more, including AI models like AIFS, GraphCast and WeatherNext. A 7-day scorecard checks every model against real weather station reports, and the SkyJury forecast leans on the models that have been right where you live.

Frequently asked questions

What is SkyJury?

SkyJury is a free weather forecast app that puts more than 40 weather models and 17 ensemble systems side by side for any place on Earth. Instead of trusting one model, it shows where the models agree, where they disagree, and gives one verdict: a forecast weighted toward the models that have been most accurate at your location over the past week.

Which weather models does SkyJury compare?

Global models include ECMWF IFS and the AI model AIFS, NOAA GFS, DWD ICON, Canada's GDPS, the UK Met Office Unified Model, Météo-France ARPEGE, JMA GSM, KMA, China's GRAPES and Australia's ACCESS-G. High-resolution regional models include HRRR, NAM 3 km, NBM, RRFS, HRDPS, ICON-EU, ICON-D2, AROME, UKV and HARMONIE. AI models include AIFS, AIGFS, GraphCast and AICON. Each model appears only where it covers your location.

What is a weather ensemble?

An ensemble runs the same weather model many times with slightly different starting conditions. If the runs agree, the forecast is confident; if they spread apart, it is uncertain. SkyJury shows 17 ensemble systems, including ECMWF ENS, ECMWF AIFS ENS, GEFS, ICON-EPS, GEPS, MOGREPS-G, ACCESS-GE and Google WeatherNext 2, with more than 500 members in total.

How does SkyJury know which model is most accurate?

The Scorecard checks every model's forecasts from the past 7 days against what actually happened: the nearest National Weather Service station in the US, or the best available weather analysis elsewhere. Models with smaller errors get more weight in the SkyJury forecast, and each model's usual warm or cold bias is corrected.

Is SkyJury free? Do I need an account?

Yes, SkyJury is free and needs no account, sign-up or app store download. Forecast data comes from Open-Meteo, the National Weather Service, NOAA and other public sources.

Does SkyJury track hurricanes?

Yes. The Hurricanes tab shows active storms from the National Hurricane Center with the official forecast track, cone of uncertainty and watches and warnings, tells you whether your location is inside the cone, and shows how many ensemble members bring tropical-storm-force winds to you in the next 7 days.

Can blind and low-vision people use SkyJury?

Yes. SkyJury works with screen readers, describes every chart in words, and has an optional audio assistant that reads the forecast aloud, answers spoken questions such as "will it rain tomorrow" or "what are the models showing for wind", and plays the week's temperatures as sound.

Can I install SkyJury on my phone?

Yes. On iPhone, open sky-jury.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and tap Install app. It opens full screen, remembers your location and shows the last forecast when you're offline.
